TRANSCRIPT OF "ON THE MARK" INTERVIEW (1993)

"My name is Zak Spears...I'm from the midwest, Chicago to be exact... my family is fairly large - I have two older brothers, one younger brother, two younger sisters, and of course, my mom and dad..."

What do you do in life?

"...Ummm, when I was in Chicago, I was a diesel mechanic... (laughter)... a diesel mechanic - yeah... I worked on Mack tracks, Caterpiller, which is the big earth movers, Kenworth, things like that..."

What'd you do to things like that?

"...Well, they'd come in with a problem and I'd fix them, y'know, rip their engines out, basically - I mean, that's what a diesel mechanic does... I'd rip their transmissions out, rebuild a transmission, rebuild an engine, throw it back in, work on the hydraulics, the electrical, everything that had to be done... welding, body work, painting... everything basically."

What do you want to do in the future?

"I've got a year of building trades under my belt right now, from the technical school... and what I want to do is finish that, finish my other year and get my certification and become a licenced contractor... that's my goal, that's what I'd like to do, is to own my own business, and y'know, be a building contractor - build homes, whatever, landscaping, stuff like that... (pause)... dungeons... playrooms... whatever they want, yeah..."

What do you think of the gay porn industry?

"I've met some incredible people in this business... I swear to God, I've met some of the nicest people in the porn industry, directors, y'know, people behind the scenes, people in front of the camera, I've met some fantastic people... but I've only met, and I've been real fortunate, a small handful of people who I can really call 'assholes', or are truly what I consider bad people... they treat people like shit, they think they're better than everybody else, they have a major attitude, y'know, which is totally ridiculous, 'cause I don't believe in the word 'porn star', I believe in 'porn personality', 'cause there's always a fresh body and a bigger dick waiting around the corner to come in... y'know, it's ridiculous, y'know, people thinking, 'Oh, God, I'm so-and-so, I'm, y'know, I'm fabulous'... who cares - you're bullshit... you're here for a blink of an eye and then a new body comes in and takes over..."

What do you like to do sexually?

"What I like to do sexually... I mean, I love romance, I really like romance... well, I do... y'know, I like to cuddle and stuff like that - but when I'm really into my boyfriend, stuff like that, I mean, I just, I just love to fuckin' eat ass, I mean, just love to, like spread his ass and just dig right in there... it's just, it sets me over the roof, it just, it just sends me into, like, total orgasm...
