I don't have a negative view of the biz, although at the time I was getting out of the business I was in a negative space in my life.  I had a boyfriend who felt it was his duty to try to (fix me as he called it, I didn't know I was broken, ha ha) protect me from myself and others, and made me feel that what I was doing was self destructive and wrong (although some people would argue that statement) but I also thought that I had reached as far as I could go in the business at that time in my life (before the studios decided for me that my time was done).  To the contrary to the rumors that went around (in and around the studio gossip) when I left, it had nothing to do with my roommate at the time (Chi Chi).  The rumor was that he was a tyrant towards me and that is the LAST thing from the truth.  He's always been very nice to me.

How did you get in the business?   When did you get in?  How old were you and how old are you now?  How was it to do your first video?

I was at a bar in Minneapolis called "The Gay 90's" - I worked as a ill-tempered bouncer at the "Ya'll Come Back Saloon" and Chi Chi LaRue was performing there.  I wanted to be in porn so I searched him out, introduced myself and the rest was easy.  They flew me out the next month (I was 26 at that time).  My first film was a JO and the first film with a man was "Model Behavior" with one scene with Wes Daniels, bottomed in that scene because I was too nervous to get hard, and the other was a flip flop with Alex Carrington in a hot tub.  That was a lot of fun, but we kept slipping off the rim (no pun intended) of the tub.

Did you ever feel like you were typecast as the master/daddy/leatherman role? Personally, I would love to see you as romantic lead where you rim and suck, talk dirty, and fuck somebody silly (as you always do), or maybe as a nerdy gay computer hacker - you would look so good in reading glasses!!   Do you think video has accurately portrayed you sexually on screen, or is just a fraction of what you can do?

I never felt like I was typecast.  But when you're 6' 2" and weigh 228 (current weight), it's kind of hard to cast someone like me as a twinkie.  So you go with what works.  I would really love to do a romantic starring role, with all the kissing, cuddling, caressing, that I enjoy in my private life.   Of course you'd have all the rimming, sucking, and butt play you would normally expect in a regular porno.  So here's the catch, the studios have gotten feedback from the consumer who buys and rents our videos, and have been told that they (consumers) don't like all the romance.  They want to get into the hardcore right away, so that way you don't see romance in videos, at least not the kind of romance that we are talking about.

I wonder about the dollar and cents of the porn business.  Once you became a well known star, could you give us an idea of how much money you would be paid for the typical video?  Or if you don't feel comfortable with specific $ amounts... can you make enough money off of the videos to support a typical middle class lifestyle?  Seems like somebody in this business is making a lot of money.  I suspect it is not the actors.

I won't talk about the money aspect of the business, but I can tell you that the models aren't the ones getting rich.  If you're in the biz and you aren't into the big party scene or taking drugs or drinking your paycheck away, you can make a nice living.  You're not going to get rich and it can't last forever (the money or your looks or your demand in films).  I lived off of it for almost 2 years before I decided to leave, but I'm living very well now (better than when I was doing films) doing my training business.

I wanted to let you know that I always found you one of the best porn performers ever, whether you are on top or on the bottom.  Watching you pork Scott Baldwin was one of the highlights I can remember.   Was it as good as you made it look?  Also watching you bottom for Brad Stone was hot beyond belief.  Do you have a preference?
